Ramsgate-RNLI-launch-twice-on-Sunday

Byline: Both of Ramsgate RNLI’s lifeboats launched during the afternoon of Sunday, 14th. July in response to two separately reported incidents.
Page Content: At 1:52pm the all weather lifeboat launched to a 17ft. angling boat with two people on board with battery failure and unable to start the engine, west of the Thanet Offshore Windfarm. The RNLI lifeboat towed the casualty and its crew (pictured) safely into Ramsgate Harbour.

At 4:57pm inshore lifeboat launched following a report of a rowing boat in difficulty in Pegwell Bay, Ramsgate. The volunteer lifeboat crew searched the given area and found a small rowing boat with two persons and a dog happily enjoying the day. The crew talked to Dover Coastguard, and it was decided that this was the correct boat and due to the fact that all on board were quite happy and unaware that the lifeboat had been called to them, the lifeboat returned to station and the call treated as a false alarm with good intent.
