Helensburgh-RNLI-Lifeboat-attends-Dinghy-Adrift

Byline: At 2128 hours on Saturday 27th July, 2013 Belfast Coastguard contacted the Helensburgh RNLI Lifeboat to advise that a member of the public at Rosneath Caravan Park had reported seeing a dinghy adrift off the Caravan Park in Gareloch.
Page Content: It had an outboard engine in the lowered position and did not appear to be manned. The lifeboat was  launched to investigate the report.
After launching at 2136 hours, the lifeboat crew conducted a search of the area and located the dingy in Camsail Bay – some 7 metres clear of the water line! As they were speaking to the informant, the owner of the dinghy appeared in another vessel. Apparently his son had not secured the bow line correctly to his boat and it had drifted off. The lifeboat returned to base at 2232 hours
