Helensburgh-RNLI-Lifeboat-attends-Yacht-in-difficulty-in-Gareloch

Byline: At 1653 hours on Wednesday 23rd October 2013 Belfast Coastguard requested the launch of Helensburgh RNLI Lifeboat after receiving a call for assistance from the owner of a 24′ yacht which was in Gareloch off Rosneath Caravan Park.
Page Content: The yacht, with single occupant on board, was on passage from Rosneath to Sandbank when it experienced engine failure.  As the mast had been lowered for the passage, hoisting a sail was not an option.  The Lifeboat launched at 1701 hours.  At 1704 hours the lifeboat crew reported that they were alongside the yacht and that it was their intention to tow it to Rhu Marina to facilitate engine repairs.  Once the yacht was secured alongside at Rhu Marina the lifeboat returned to
