Matt had known of the work of the RNLI lifeboats from an early age. He had been brought up in a village called Wells-Next-To-The-Sea where he first had the love of the ocean instilled in him and also became interested in the work of the local lifeboat station and it’s volunteer crew.

Wanting to do something for the institution, on the 5 June Matt embarked on a national fundraising tour of 172 of the RNLI’s stations. He aims to complete his tour later this month.
