Byline: At 1508 hours on Wednesday 2nd July 2014 Belfast Coastguard request RNLI lifeboat assistance for the owner of a 34′ Motor Cruiser who reported that he was adrift off Cloch point with propulsion problems.
Page Content: The vessel was on passage from a boatyard after having undergone maintenance on its propulsion system.  Although forward gear could be selected, there was no propulsion.  After launching, the lifeboat crew proceeded to the area where they located the vessel which had been taken in tow by a passing fishing vessel. The tow was transferred to the lifeboat which then towed the vessel to the James Watt Dock, Port Glasgow.  After securing the vessel alongside at the Dock, the lifeboat returned to base, reporting ready for service again at 1716 hours.
