The three riders were members of Rhyl Water Jetski club. Their leader on this day was Martin Barker, who has had occasion to use the services of Rhyl RNLI in past years. The crew were just getting ready to launch the station’s Inshore lifeboat on exercise, when Martin strode ashore and presented the station with a cheque for £100, raised by the club in recent weeks.

The cheque was gratefully accepted by the Operations manager of the station, Darrel Crowther, who said “As a charity, we are grateful to other water users for their support for our vital life-saving service. The money will go towards the station fund held by the RNLI specifically for the maintenance of Rhyl RNLI lifeboat station.”

Once the cheque was presented, the three riders departed the station by sea.

The attached photo shows the 3 members of the club with Martin Barker, centre; and 3 crew from Rhyl Inshore lifeboat crew, just after the presentation of the cheque.
