The lifeboat launched and was alongside the vessel within 20 minutes. A crewman was transferred to the casualty to assist the two men, and a tow was undertaken back to Rhyl harbour, with the lifeboat returning to station at 9.45pm.

The engine of the vessel had seized and so had no propulsion. The casualty and it’s crew were assisted in the mooring by Rhyl local Coastguard volunteers, who ensured the vessel was tied up safely on the pontoon.
