Byline: The crew were paged at 11.13 am on Friday 19 September to assist with the medical evacuation of a workman on an offshore wind farm.
Page Content: The RAF rescue helicopter was tasked also , and the aircraft arrived on scene a few minutes after the lifeboat. The man had been transferred to a support vessel with the wind farm’s own emergency response team. The helicopter lowered a winchman to the support vessel while the lifeboat stood by, in case the casualty could not be evacuated by air. After an assessment by the helicopter winchman, the man was winched into the aircraft and flown to hospital. The lifeboat crew were then stood down and returned to station at 1.30pm.
