The initial report at 2.43pm from a 999 call by a member of the public, said the dinghy was about 1/2 mile off Golden Sands camp in Towyn, but when the lifeboat crew found the dinghy, it was nearly a mile away from it’s initial reported position.

The two occupants were taken on board the lifeboat, and they and their dinghy were returned to their initial launch site, safe and well. They were handed over to local coastguard volunteers to give some safety advice.

The lifeboat crew returned to station at 3.30pm.
