Byline: As the crew of Criccieth’s RNLI Lifeboat station was preparing to launch for their weekly exercise on Thursday the 30th of July, they were requested to go to the assistance of a speedboat suffering from engine failure near the mouth of the River Dwyfor.

The well-equipped 4 meter speedboat which had earlier set-off from Criccieth, with one person on board, had suffered unspecified engine trouble and was unable to restart its engines.  Accordingly the lifeboat was tasked.      

Once on-scene a tow was established between the two vessels and they returned to Criccieth.  Two onshore crewmembers assisted with the beach recovery.
