Byline: At 3.30pm on Sunday the 16th of August, 2015 volunteer crew members from Criccieth's RNLI lifeboat station were tasked to go and assist a speedboat suffering from engine failure near Morannedd Rocks, Criccieth.
Page Content: The alarm had been raised by two of the speedboat's occupants who swam ashore and attended the lifeboat station to report that the 5 metre speedboat - which had a further three persons on-board - had suffered from engine failure. At the time, the stricken vessel was at anchor. All occupants, who were from the same family, were wearing buoyancy aids.
The speedboat had originally set-off from Pwllheli marina. Once paged, the crew launched the station's Atlantic 85 class lifeboat, Doris Joan and were quickly on-scene. A tow was established and the speedboat was taken back to Pwllheli.
The lifeboat was recovered, refuelled and made ready for service.
