A group from the ‘notorious’ Sheppey Pirates’ lead by Captain Cutlass aka. Adrian Collins were welcomed onboard the Sheerness all weather lifeboat George and Ivy Swanson on Sunday 6 September to present a cheque for the amazing sum of £2500 to the  RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea.

The cash was raised at the annual Sheppey Pirates Festival held on 1 August at Bartons Point.

Sheerness Lifeboat Operations Manager, Colin Washford who received the cheque on behalf of the RNLI, said: ’Once again ‘the pirates’ have done a great job and we were staggered by the size of the cheque. Our thanks and best wishes go to all those involved.’
